| Amber’s passion for remote and wild places began at an early age, growing up with the beautiful Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness as her backyard and playground. Since then Amber has been all over the US and world exploring remote places. She has professionally guided rivers throughout the Western United States for the past 8 years and paddled many remote rivers internationally. Amber has been involved in wilderness rescue and medicine since 2002, working as a backcountry guide, remote medical provider, instructor, and ski patroller. She came to Remote Medical International in 2008 and has been sharing her enthusiasm for medicine in wild places and love of teaching with our students ever since. She earned a degree in Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics from UC Davis and is currently pursuing her master’s in medicine at Oregon Health and Science University to become a Physician Assistant. |
