| A practicing emergency medicine physician and EMS medical director for Skagit County, WA, Dr. Slack has been active in mountaineering and mountain-rescue since 1976. Currently active with Skagit and Bellingham Mountain Rescue, he has also volunteered in Denali and North Cascades National Parks. Dr. Slack completed residency training in emergency medicine at Highland General Hospital, the county hospital and trauma center for Oakland, California. During the winter, Dr. Slack ski patrols at the Mt Baker Ski Area. Other interests include sea kayaking and aviation. |
