| John Vonk has a diverse background which includes professional experience in the outdoor and marine industries as well as in the military. He most recently served on active duty as a deck watch officer with the U.S. Coast Guard as well as deployed as a logistics officer during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. John has a long association with Outward Bound and has led programs in wilderness areas throughout the United States. John holds certifications in swift-water rescue, incident command system, advanced marine firefighting and is a certified critical incident stress debriefer. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys racing sail-boats on Puget Sound, Fly-fishing the many rivers and snowboarding throughout the west. |
