| Rich is a Paramedic Firefighter for Portland Fire and Rescue. He also works on a Heavy Rescue in downtown Portland, Oregon and is a member of the Technical Rescue Team (rope, tunnel, trench, heavy machinery, confined space, building collapse, and water rescue) for Portland and for the Oregon Urban Search and Rescue team (USAR). In 2005, he was deployed to New Orleans, Louisiana as part of Oregon's Disaster Medical Team (DMAT), to assist with rescue effort for Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Rich is also an active instructor for ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, Portland Community College, and OHSU Paramedic Program. He is an outdoor enthusiast, whose interests include snowboarding, wakeboarding, hiking, and rock climbing. |
