Sandy is a skilled remote paramedic, providing emergency medical services in a variety of civilian and military environments. Sandy began his love of adventure as a young man rock-climbing on the Canadian-shield, volunteering with his local fire department and Rescue Squad as a firefighter-EMT Shock Trauma Tech. After joining the military he served as a US Navy Search and Rescue Swimmer and later as a Naval Coastal Warfare Corpsman. The world travel and extreme environmental conditions suited him well. Following his years in the military, Sandy has continued to work as an independent contract medic in remote and hostile locations such as Bosnia, Iraq and offshore. Sandy is also trained in many rescue specialties including swift-water rescue, high-angle rope rescue, and cave rescue. He is equally at home in the jungle, mountains, desert or mid-ocean. When at home in the Pacific Northwest Sandy enjoys mountaineering, diving, sailing, rebuilding antique firearms and keeping his shooting skills sharp.
