Tom grew up in the hills of New Hampshire, spent over ten years in Colorado, and has resided in Seattle for the last seven years. Outdoor activities have been a focus since an early age; Tom enjoys skiing, climbing, mountain biking, fishing, sailing and camping and recently has enjoyed sharing these pursuits with his two young children.
Tom has been a professional mountain guide since 1999 and has extensive AMGA training, is avalanche level II certified and has instructed and guided rock, alpine, backcountry skiing and high altitude peak climbs all around the world. His professional guiding experience includes leading almost 30 international expeditions, including four telemark descents from the summit of Russia’s Mount Elbrus, summitting Antarctica’s Vinson Massif by two routes in two days, and multiple successful trips in Ecuador, Mexico, and Argentina.
Tom holds a degree in Russian Language from the University of Colorado, and speaks fluent Russian as well as functional German and Spanish. He brings his extensive industry experience and commitment to authentic and personal care to his work at Remote Medical International.
