| Tyler Neilsen is a Whatcom County Paramedic with Bellingham Fire & Rescue. As a firefighter since 2001, Tyler has extensive experience providing emergency medical care and rescue in rural setting (where the ambulance has to take a ferry to the hospital). He is certified in Trench Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Rope Rescue (High & Low Angle), Marine Rescue, Hazmat, and also works in medical support group. Tyler has also spent time as a commercial fisherman working offshore and as a wildland fire-fighter. When not teaching our Wilderness EMT and rescue courses, Tyler enjoys skiing, backpacking, and hunting in the Pacific Northwest. |
