| Paul Shovelier is a remote site paramedic in our Medical & Rescue Support Division. Paul has been a medic in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years 15 of those as an Independent Duty Medical Technician. He spent 12 years at the U.S. Air Force Survival School providing advanced level medical care in mountainous, desert, tropical, arctic and open ocean environments. While at the Survival School he was trained in swift water rescue and high low angle rescue. He also performed helicopter search and rescue duties to include hoist and stokes litter extraction, night vision goggle use, forward looking infrared operation and heli-rappel instruction. As a result of his time flying on search and rescue he earned the Air Force’s Aerial Achievement Medal for life saving missions. Paul was responsible for providing support to a NATO support unit in Turkey and was assigned to a flying unit in Iraq. Aside from his military experience he has 18 years experience in urban EMS in Washington State. When not on deployment with Remote Medical International, Paul can be found with his family camping, snowboarding or trail riding. |
