Course Information for the Wilderness First Responder
Hosted by the Colorado Mountain School and Boulder Rock Club, the 80-hour Wilderness First Responder certification is considered the standard medical certification for guides, trip leaders, outdoor educators, and anyone working or recreating in remote areas. Wilderness First Responders should be able to effectively make decisions when a hospital is hours to days away.
The Wilderness First Responder by Remote Medical International emphasizes decision-making, hands-on skills and the theoretical knowledge necessary to function in remote areas, as well as providing a strong foundation to progress on to more advanced levels of training.
Our curriculum has been developed based on recommendations from the Wilderness Medical Society combined with the collective experience of our medical advisory board & remote area paramedics. American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR is included in the course.
There will be no class on the weekend, May 17-18, 2008
