Corporate Responsibility
As an employee-owned company, Remote Medical believes that going to work each day should enhance your life. Our core business is protecting people while enhancing their ability to explore and enjoy some of the most remote areas of the planet. We work with a variety of clients, though our mission always remains the same: to protect the health and welfare of the people who venture to the far reaches of the planet.
Health and Safety
Remote Medical provides peace-of-mind to our clients through the effective delivery of health and safety and environment (HSE) solutions. As leaders in HSE, our ability to proactively manage HSE in our own company is essential.
Impact on Society
Remote Medical strives to ensure that our operations have a positive impact on the communities within which we operate. We hire competent and professional staff, actively participate as responsible members of the communities we live and work in and provide continuing medical and safety education to both our own staff and the community at large. Members of our staff actively volunteer teaching, responding to disasters, or on boards of schools and non-profit organizations.
Impact on Environment
In all our operations, we continually find ways to make more efficient use of resources, decrease emissions and waste and minimize the impact of our operations on the environment. We work hard to decrease our footprint while offsetting the footprint we do make in staff travel, shipping equipment to to our clients, and accounting for our waste through our partnership with carbonfund.org
Relations with Employees
The welfare, education, and commitment of our employees is one of our highest priorities. We provide living wages with benefits including health-care, paid-vacation, retirement savings, profit sharing and continuing education. We recognize that many of our employees work in remote environments, with significant time away from friends and family. With this in mind we take action to decrease the effects of that lifestyle by maintaining close relationships between office and field staff. With great respect for the sacrifices that our staff make in pursuit of their career, so that others may live, we honor the importance of our staff's family and friends.
We maintain an open door policy with all employees, for any issue, at any level. Our success relies on open and direct communication across the company, and we recognize the expertise and experience that every employee brings to the table. Furthermore, senior staff members and supervisors are selected with backgrounds in remote area medical care, ensuring little divide between field and office operations.
We promote a culture of responsibility through involvement. All employees are required to undergo bi-annual evaluations, which allow the employee to also evaluate their supervisor.
Remote Medical International is an equal opportunity employer, and our policies ensure that all people are considered equally for employment providing that they do not place themselves or others in unnecessary and foreseeable danger, after considering the risk factors inherent in our business.
