Wilderness First Responder certification is considered the standard for professionals working as guides, trip leaders, outdoor educators, as well as recreational expedition medical personnel in remote areas. The Wilderness First Responder course from Remote Medical International is designed for individuals who have a high-likelihood of using their training in the field. Drawn off the collective experience our of Offshore Medics, Instructors, and staff, you can be sure that our courses are applicable to wilderness medicine because we are a trusted authority in providing care in remote areas.
Our Wilderness First Responder Courses are recognized around the world, including the American Mountain Guides Association and the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides and meets both WA State and National Guidelines for First Responder Training. All of our courses are hands-on, focused on wilderness care, and involve real equipment including AED trainers, oxygen cylinders and rescue equipment because students must understand how to use and apply this equipment during an emergency.
Wilderness First Responders should be able to effectively make decisions when a hospital is hours to days away. The Wilderness First Responder Courses by Remote Medical International emphasizes decision-making, hands-on skills and theoretical knowledge necessary to function in remote areas, as well as providing a strong foundation to progress on to more advanced levels of training.
