Instructor, Wilderness Medicine & Rescue

Remote Medical International’s Training Group is looking for seasoned remote medical care providers with a history of outstanding teaching experience to join our instructor team. Both Full and Part-time positions are available.
As an RMI Instructor, you will teach courses from introductory Wilderness First Aid to intensive courses for medical professionals across the US and internationally, based upon the latest research, sound medical practice, and proven delivery methods. Our clients and students are diverse and range from researchers working in Antarctica, to military special forces, to professional mountain guides on any given course. Therefore, you must possess that unique ability to connect with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and experience, be humble, and always flexible.

- Current certification as Wilderness EMT, Paramedic, Nurse, PA, NP, MD
- Documented experience providing patient care in remote or wilderness environments
- Documented experience in adult education (experience teaching pre-hospital medicine preferred)
- Ability to travel for up to 4 weeks at a time
- Available for a minimum of 50 teaching days (part-time) or 110 teaching days (full-time) annually
- Able to attend Instructor Selection Course - course dates to be determined

Applicants chosen to continue beyond the initial interviews are invited to, and must be available for, the Instructor Selection Course, held about once per year in Washington. Following the selection course, offers of employment will be made. The selection course is free and includes all food and lodging. All attendants will earn CME for participation in the course.
