Product information for OnScene Guide & Knee Board
Are you taking notes on your gloves? Imagine you’re at an accident scene high on a remote mountainside. Or at a gazillion-car pile-up on an urban freeway. It’s been a long shift, the weather meets your personal definition of awful (windy, rainy, cold—whatever), and a million things are happening at once. Meanwhile, you’re trying to take a medical history.
What you need is some help, and not from scrolling through endless dialog boxes on some fancy electronic gadget that’s going to short out the moment it meets that cold rain. You also need somewhere to jot down notes—something better than adhesive tape, gloves, pillowcases, the back of your hand, or whatever else happens to be in the vicinity during “the heat of battle.”
What you need is the SAM® OnScene Patient Assessment Guide.
The OnScene Guide is a durable, waterproof, write-and-wipe note pad containing essential assessment questions for the most common emergency calls. Many questions can be answered by checking yes-or-no boxes. Others can be answered simply by circling a selection. You write on the pad with a smear-proof Sharpie® marker, which dries instantly, but can easily be erased with an alcohol swab or an alcohol-dampened cloth when you’re finished. For an inexpensive permanent record, you can photocopy your notes before wiping the pad clean for its next use.
