It will not puncture and is not affected by extreme temperature or altitude. It is waterproof and easily disinfected with protocol cleaning solutions. SAM® Splint is radiolucent and does not have to be removed for x-ray. It can be used to splint almost anything or be used as a cervial collar in a pinch.
