The Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician (WEMT) course prepares students for work as professional providers of remote and wilderness care. WEMTs have opportunities to work in unique environments like ski patrol, doing standby rescue at remote locations and businesses, performing medic duties on expeditions, working as medics in National Parks, on wildland fire lines, or for urban ambulance services.
The WEMT program at Remote Medical International is taught by Remote Site Paramedics with experienced Wilderness EMTs, Critical Care Nurses, Paramedics, and Emergency Physicians as guest lecturers. The course format is a combination of lecture, realistic scenarios in real-time, and hospital emergency department internships.
This course will be held at:
Sahalie Lodge at the summit of Snoqualmie Pass
WEMT Course Site Information:
The beautiful Sahali lodge is just a short walk from four ski areas and the Pacific Coast Trail. Lodging is in a semi-private dormitory with separate male and female dorms.
