Course Information for the Sea Kayak and Paddler Wilderness First Aid
Sponsored by the Bellingham Bay Community Boating Center, this Sea Kayak and Paddler specific Wilderness First Aid course is a 16 hour course designed to provide elementary skills in remote and marine environment patient care. Based on recommendations from the Wilderness Medical Society and evidence-based research, our curriculum focuses on making sound decisions regarding the treatment of illnesses and injuries in the marine environment and will focus on ocean-based hazards and scenarios. This course is a hands-on, experiential format providing students with the skills and confidence for making remote medical care decisions. Sea Kayak and Paddler Wilderness First Aid is ideal for anybody spending time on the water.
