I just wanted to write you a quick note of appreciation for the services that your team at RMI has provided Military Sealift Command since the start of our contract in October 2015. Since that time, several of our ships have reached out for medical advice and the feedback from our Medical Service Officers has been very positive. From all reports, our ships have always been able to reach one of your doctors within minutes, and have been given sound advice that takes into account the medical capabilities aboard our ships. Thank you again for providing outstanding service and support to Military Sealift Command.
– T.J. Bergan, LCDR MC USN, Force Medical Officer, Military Sealift Command
Remote and Challenging
The maritime industry works in demanding conditions, in that it is often geographically isolated from good medical care, and in that flexibility is a requirement for successful performance. Our services meet the medical needs of the maritime environment through systems designed specifically for flexibility, short turnarounds, and comprehensive medical care throughout all phases.
Our HSEQ Advisors will assist in ensuring that your company’s HSEQ Safety Management System (SMS) is adhered to and also provide on-the-spot advice. Our advisors typically hold a NEBOSH International Certificate(or equivalent), Kelvin Topset Incident Investigation certificate, and a BOSIET certificate. Our advisors are available to help with risk analysis, incident investigation, auditing, coaching, mentoring, and safety education.
Integrated Medical Support
With the myriad of factors needed for successful performance, the last thing maritime companies need is multiple medical subcontractors to manage. Our comprehensive services include pre-employment screening programs, medical supplies that meet flag-state requirements, telemedicine programs, medical staffing, and more. Using an integrated medical service provider saves our clients time and money.
Continuity of Care
We provide seamless care for our clients through all stages of a medical event. This includes detailed medical emergency response planning, audits, and continuous testing. When a patient needs a higher level of care, we take action using our vetted network of ground transportation, air ambulances, and medical facilities specific to our client’s area of operations.

Global Offshore Oil Drilling
We manage a global master service agreement with a major global offshore drilling contractor. The scope of work entails the provision of a full complement of medical services including the delivery of medical staffing, topside support, medical assistance and occupational health services to a global fleet of offshore drilling installations. We also staff HSEQ advisors to support their SMS. We have successfully managed this complex project by ensuring we deliver the highest level of safety and medical care to our client’s workforce whilst maintaining compliance with local regulations across all areas of operation.
Seismic Vessels Offshore of Africa
To staff a project off the shore of Africa, a geophysical company requested both medical and safety staffing in response to strict health and safety requirements from the end client. In response, we placed an HSEQ Advisor and a physician on each vessel. In order to meet our client’s requirements, we worked diligently to deploy staff across multiple timelines and locations. Additionally, we ensured compliance with local regulations by working with local partners and offering flexible staffing options of both local national and expat personnel to our client.
US Government Vessel Operator
We provide emergency medical advice to all of our client’s government owned and operated ships and units located worldwide through our Topside Assistance service. The client’s medical providers on board the vessels can contact our Topside Assistance at any time, 24/7, and be connected to a physician for medical advice within minutes. We can provide recommendations for those seeking professional medical treatment from other ships or ashore. We take into account what resources are necessary and available, distance from sources of professional medical treatment, and the expense of obtaining such treatment.
Global Shipping Company
We coordinate the pre-employment medical screening process for all of our client’s mariners. In addition, we supply all vessels with medical equipment and a medical inventory management system.
