An international seismic survey company required assistance with global challenges including multiple employee nationalities, worldwide travel, customs clearances for pharmaceutical shipments to vessels, and global evacuation and emergency response difficulties. This client has vessel operations in the Middle East, Asia, offshore Europe and Africa, South America, and the Gulf of Mexico. With a crew of more than fifty individuals on each ship, the client needed a company with HSE expertise to manage all aspects of routine and emergency medical care in alignment with regional QHSE advisors and company initiatives.

In order to streamline the client’s operations, Remote Medical International assisted in the development, training, and launch of a new safety medic program. Utilizing experienced remote area paramedics with HSE training, RMI’s specialized medics worked as a member of the client’s crew by providing routine medical care, training, emergency response, and supported health and safety initiatives. As the primary medical expert on board, RMI medics supported the client’s team by providing incident investigation assistance and STOP card monitoring while maintaining strong relationships on board. While RMI’s medics were the most visible form of support on the client’s vessels, they were not acting alone. Behind every RMI medic lies a robust team of project managers, logistics coordinators, shipping specialists, medical directors, and the RMI CONNECT™ global telemedicine team. All of the client’s clinic operations, from inventory maintenance and equipment monitoring to global shipping of pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and medical supplies, were managed by Remote Medical International. By utilizing RMI’s Medical Program Management services, the client benefited from reduced cost and was relieved of the burden of customs issues, pharmaceutical quality control, and inventory management. The client also utilizes RMI for evacuation assistance and joint emergency response planning.
