By September 13, 2017October 28th, 2020No Comments

Remote Medical International was one of the top 20 USAID contractors for 2016, receiving $67,000,000 in obligated contract funding.

2016 is the first year Remote Medical International was included in the top 20 contractors. In 2015, the company received $10,000,000.00 in obligated funding. As a small business prime contractor to USAID, Remote Medical International has provided HIV rapid tests kits to USAID and partner projects around the world since February of 2015. This contract directly supports the President’s Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and provides critical supplies to address the global HIV/AIDS epidemic.

The success of this contract has established Remote Medical International as a capable partner on the Global Health Supply Chain team,” says Peter Smith, IDIQ/Task Order Director at Remote Medical International. “We exceeded our commodity forecast in 2016 and have met our 2017 commodity projection with three months left in the year. The success of the program has made countries comfortable working with us and they know we will deliver.

Also included in the top 20 2016 USAID contractors are Chemonics International Inc., Tetra Tech Inc., DAI, Abt Associates, AECOM, Creative Associates International, Partnership for Supply Chain Management, Kenya Medical Supplies Authority, FHI 360, RTI International, John Snow Inc., Engility Corporation, Dexis, CAMRIS International, Deloitte, IBM, International Business & Technical Consultants Inc., Nathan Associates, and Checchi and Company.

About Remote Medical International

Remote Medical International is a leading provider of comprehensive medical support services for federal clients operating both domestically and internationally. A small business with a global footprint, we have supported mission readiness for U.S. Government entities and contractors on a variety of base operations support, contingency, and training projects from Afghanistan to Rwanda. We work closely with our clients to develop and maintain customized medical capability for projects located in remote and challenging environments and deliver an end-to-end medical support, staffing, equipment, training, and evacuation solution designed to meet their needs. Remote Medical International is uniquely positioned to support peacekeeping, capacity building, development, and diplomatic programs, whether they require fully-staffed and equipped clinics, hospital facilities, medical training programs, onsite risk reviews, or medical emergency response plans.

We ship medical equipment and supplies to over 120 countries around the world from our warehouses in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A., and Nairobi, Kenya. With partners located in South Africa and Angola, our global supply chain provides integrated distribution channels to ensure customs compliance, as well as the timely and reliable delivery of goods. We can supply over the counter pharmaceuticals, prescription and legend pharmaceuticals, narcotics, and vaccines from the U.S., EU, and other qualified international locations. Many pharmaceuticals and reagents require cold chain transport management, and our certified cold chain logistics and procurement process uses a unique network of global providers to transport pharmaceuticals from origin to destination. We pre-validate each shipment to ensure proper packaging and routing while offering tools for the receiver to validate that shipments remained at the proper temperature throughout transport. Depending on requirements, we can provide clients with U.S. FDA-certified and locally sourced medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, refrigerated vaccines, medical kits, clinics, and other supplies.

About USAID

USAID has two complementary and intrinsically linked goals: ending extreme poverty and promoting the development of resilient, democratic societies that are able to realize their potential. We fundamentally believe that ending extreme poverty requires enabling inclusive, sustainable growth; promoting free, peaceful, and self-reliant societies with effective, legitimate governments; building human capital and creating social safety nets that reach the poorest and most vulnerable. USAID’s efforts directly enhance American—and global—security and prosperity. The United States is safer and stronger when fewer people face destitution, when our trading partners are flourishing, when nations around the world can withstand crisis, and when societies are freer, more democratic, and more inclusive, protecting the basic rights and human dignity of all citizens. By focusing on these two goals, together, we position ourselves to meet the challenges of today while mitigating the risks of tomorrow.
