The Wilderness First Responder Recertification (WFC) course fulfills all educational requirements to recertify a Wilderness First Responder (WFR).
Through a hands-on and scenario-based approach, this course offers the skills and confidence needed to make informed medical decisions when definitive care is hours away. The WFC includes short lectures, interactive labs, and realistic practice scenarios that help students master the central concepts of remote medicine and effectively respond to an emergency if necessary.

2 years (WFR, CPR)
Current WFR or REMT/WEMT (must be within 3 years of certification issue date); 18+ years old or parent/guardian permission

The WFC refreshes Wilderness First Responder curriculum, including legal considerations, patient assessment, lifting and moving patients, altitude, immersion, submersion, lightning, and altered mental states. The course curriculum also educates students on how to successfully manage shock, head injuries, wounds, infection, musculoskeletal and spinal injuries, respiratory and cardiac emergencies, abdominal pain, metabolic and allergic reactions, cold and heat emergencies, and more.
