Methodology

Proprietary Country Risk Assessment Index

We developed the Country Risk Assessment Index to inform our decisions about appropriate security measures and risk controls that enable safe operations in high-threat countries. We update the index regularly based on open source data and our network of in-country agents, strategic partners, and consultants to ensure accurate information for our clients.

The Country Risk Assessment Index consists of various indices that measure different types of threats (e.g., state collapse, war, terrorism, corruption, travel safety, and crime) and is displayed in an easy-to-understand traffic light format to clearly convey the severity of the threat. We provide Country Risk Ratings for each country to serve as a benchmark.

We have honed our risk assessment tools over the course of hundreds of projects in diverse sectors and countries, including major events like the Olympics (London 2012) and European Games (Baku 2015), and major projects like undersea cable laying in the Indian Ocean HRA.
